| Synopsis
On the shores of Lake Victoria two boys, Opul and Magere, are born,
one of whom will change the destiny of their people. In a time when
battling for supremecy among tribes was ripe the two boys seek the
honour of being Osumba Murwayi, the head of the warriors.
The people of the Hill had an unmatched military
prowess and won all the battles, embarrassing the people of the
Lake who yearned for a great warrior to lead tem to victory. One
dark night while the Lake warriors are on guard, the Hill Warriors
attack the Luo village and massacre many villagers among them, Magere’s
Parents.
Vulnerable and angry, the young warrior seeks
for help from the ancestors. They garnt him powers so great, he
becomes Lwanda, “the man of stone” but he has a terrible
secret that only he and Nyaber his wife know.
The man of stone now invincible seeks to avenge
his people’s lost honour. Soon enough the hunter becomes the
hunted. The people of the Hills forced to eat humble pie, concede
defeat. Or do they?
The beautiful Cheptoo, sent as a bride for the great warrior, is
not all she appears to be. She slowly weaves a web of deceit. The
women besets him with a fever so strong, a man of light he can no
longer be.
Driven by his lust and ambition, he alienates his people and becomes
a stranger to his one true love, Nyaber. Against the wisdom of Nyaber
and advice of the ancestors he entrusts his secret to Cheptoo—the
beginning of the end of the great Lwanda Man of Stone.
