Sterling Quality Entertainment Company, which produced the musicals such as Sarafina, Lwanda Man of Stone and Malaika will next month present another musical, The Sunbirds through its Silver Stage Musicals brand.
The Sunbirds, an enchanting African musical set in the heart of Central Africa. Amidst celebrations during the harvest season, the jubilant villagers of Sazana wake up one morning to find the day has not broken! The imminent life without light initiates a hunt for the extraordinary light-giving Sunbirds believed to have been captured by the beautiful but vile goddess Dzivaguru. The quest for the Sunbirds lead Oke and Cirumi to traverse the culturally-rich continent as they solve riddles which give them clues as to where Dzivaguru can be found.
Written and created by Kenya’s youngest composer and grade 8 violinist Danson Kiundi, The Sunbirds is an enthralling story accompanied by truly captivating music, dance, scenery and costumes from the continent.
It is directed by Elizabeth Ouda with Danson Kiundi as the Music Director and Sarah Mando as the Choreography Director.
