This September, Sterling Quality Entertainment Company brings you yet another musical produced under the Silver Stage Musicals brand. The brand offers our clients the very best of quality musical productions. “More than you imagined”, says the Silver Stage slogan, and soon your imagination will be challenged by AIDA. Set in an era when Pharaohs maintained their power by annexing other tribes, it is a tragic story of an Egyptian Captain (Radames) sent by the Pharaoh to the Nubian region. Upon conquest, He returns home with slaves, among them Aida, a young Nubian beauty whose unique nature accords her fair treatment from the Captain while in Egypt. Soon love evolves between them, but not without difficulty. It’s a moving story filled with beautiful colours, dances and great singing. The music is written by Elton John and lyrics by Tim Rice. Previous stars that have featured in other productions of AIDA in Broadway include Toni Braxton and Deborah Cox.
The Silver Stage Musicals version of Giuseppe Verdi’s classic opera, AIDA, is directed by Cindy Ogana, Sterling Quality’s Artistic Director for theatrical productions, with Waithaka Gatumia and Danson Kyundi as the Music Directors and Elizabeth Ouda as the Choreography Director.
Silver Stage Musicals third original Kenyan musical is set for November, THE SUNBIRDS created, written and composed by Danson Kyundi is a unique musical. It combines the strengths of both African and orchestral tunes.
